Welcome to the online application for the Masters of Digital Media Program @ The Great Northern Way Campus.
Online Application
We understand and appreciate the time involved in completing this application.
While the application process is quite straightforward, there are several steps involved and
each component of the application is of equal importance.
We encourage you to carefully read the admission requirements and
application instructions before you begin to complete your application to ensure you are familiar with the entrance requirements and content of the admission application.
In order to successfully complete the MDM Application, you will need to complete the following steps:
- Complete and submit the Online Application form including the $100 non-refundable application fee.
- Assemble all supplementary materials, as outlined below:
- A portfolio of previous work. This may include exhibited art, designs, film or video, computer software or engineering designs. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of this program we have no set requirements of what your portfolio may consist of. When possible, use a web-based portfolio, however the Selection Committee will also accept CD, DVD, video and most other digital media formats. Please contact the Admissions Office if you have questions regarding the compatibility of software. Keep in mind no matter what discipline you come from, your portfolio is your opportunity to show the selection committee why you belong here. If you have any questions regarding the portfolio piece of your application, or the compatibility of software, please contact Alison Robb at Alison_robb@gnwc.ca.
- Letter of Intent (750 word letter outlining your interest in and fit with the program)
- 3 sealed letters of reference (at least two letters should be from academic sources but may also include professional references. Ensure the referee directly addresses your suitability for graduate study in the field of digital media. Letters should not exceed 500 words, and must be sealed with the referees signature across the envelope)
- official Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended (You must make arrangements for official, translated transcripts to be sent to the Admissions Office at Great Northern Way Campus: 577 Great Northern Way, Vancouver BC V5T 1E1)
- sample of written work (You may opt to Include this as part of your online application but If you do not, you must include a short academic paper or sample of work-related writing. Please do not exceed 1000 words)
- resume
- Proof of Citizenship. For Canadian and Permanent Resident Applicants this can
be a photocopy of an appropriate official document. International students are
requested to submit a photocopy of their passport.
- Proof of name change if applicable (a photocopy of the proof is acceptable)
- A copy of official TOEFL or IELTS results, if applicable
Documents submitted in languages other than English must be accompanied by a translation provided by a certified translator.
